THE COMMUNITY HUB

Proposals for the Site include the provision of a new Community hub which is accessible to new and existing residents. The community hub will act as a key nodal point on the site, providing and hosting a range of activities and services to meet the needs of the local community.

The proposed Community Hub would provide a kitchen and a community hall including a stage for recreational activities. A library and community rooms to support the social cohesion and interaction between the new and local residents.

Proposed Community Hub floor plan

We have discussed several options of the potential location for the new Community Hub with local stakeholders.

Following these discussions we have identified three locations for the community hub within the Site and would appreciate your views on your preferred location.

Your feedback can be provided using the online form, which can be found under the feedback tab of this website.

Option 1

Option 1

Option 1 illustrates the community hub within the eastern point of the scheme, this option would provide excellent connections by foot and cycle to Spence Lane and into the village. The community hub would also overlook new areas of green space at this location.

Option 2

Option 2

Option 2 locates the community hub close to the entrance of the scheme and will be visible from Forest Road through the proposed pedestrian access point.

Option 3

Option 3

Option 3 situates the community hub along the primary route and is visible from the vehicular access to the scheme. This option also includes space for a community garden adjoining the building.
